Caterpillar C15 stock sound

Unread post #1by kriechbaum » 05.03.2017, 21:46

Hello all,

Cat C15 stock engine and sounds is here. It doesn't replace the previous cat sound, it's a new engine.
I'll also add it in the next RTA trucks for the updates.

Another awesome sound mod by the truck sound master himself sounds great. One question does it work with all trucks like the k108 mack superliner and western star at all or just the stock scs trucks

Hi, the RTA trucks have those sounds already, except of course this new Cat C15.

Of course when we will update the truck, i'll update the sounds as well.

Hi Kapitan,

I'm a really big fan of these sounds you created. Although I never drove a big rig in real life, I'm pretty sure that's exactly how they sound like.
But for me personally, it's too close to reality :) The whining of the turbochargers is annoying after some hours driving.

So my question is: is it possible to make these sounds somehow configurable? So that you can "fine tune" some aspects to your personal liking?
Something aspects like:

Turbo whine: [ - ] ---|---------------- [ + ]
Rumble (idle): [ - ] -------------|------ [ + ]
Rumble (load): [ - ] ----------------|--- [ + ]

Or are these sounds just "given" samples which can only be modified by RPM and load?

best

Chris

I would be very happy.
With the sounds of Kriechbaum I always lack a little open pipe sound of a V8 engine (outside).
I once stood 100 meters away from a hill, which has been heavily tormented by Swedish wood trucks.
It was almost only the hammering from the exhaust systems to hear.
Excuse my bad English!

SirAeleon
Hi,

This is why i made many engines and sounds, you have the choice. For this sound Cat C15, the turbo is very set at a low lever and you almost can't hear it in game.
For the ramble, this depends of the sound files i use. I try to avoid to modify the samples, i want to keep the details of the originals sounds. If i add more treble, you will lose something, same thing for the bass or the high frequencies. The best thing is to avoid to modify them.

I made so many engines and sounds for those trucks, i am pretty sure you can find what you need for ;)

See you !

Liking this one better :)

not the usual 6 straight CAT but V8... 18 litres, 600 HP... the CAT 3408 rocks!

Added after 1 minute 2 seconds:
Maybe we can have this option in the Kenworths in the future?

So maybe this one?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yWtrhe-20A (Its the same truck I think)

But I guess you found them already. What sound samples (or what quality) do you need for making a new sound mod? Maybe I can have a closer look for them during my journeys through YouTube-Land :)

Driving most of those engines in real life in Australia, especially the cummins engines mainly, I have to say in all honesty, your sounds are so good and close to the real thing that I am used to experiencing from the real engines. You are pretty bang on with your sounds.
Don't change what you are doing man..you are spot on.
Great work, it makes ets2 and ats so believable with your authenticity of the sounds you are producing. Real pro. Love that grunt you get from the cummins especially. Brilliant work.
