Kenworth K108 - Missing Parts / Damaged Files
Good morning RTA,
Lastnight i purchased the Kenworth K108 from the RTA-Mods site for American Trucking Simulator and once i received the download link via email i began the download process. After about 10 mins it was done so i followed the instructions and put part 1, part 2 and part 3 into the mods folder. After doing so i launched the game, enabled the mods and was viewing the truck in the vehicle browser in-game, when i noticed quite a few of the interior models were "missing" their steering wheels. I figured the files might be missing something so i tried to open each of the part 1, 2 and 3 files to make sure their bits and pieces were there. The Part 1 file opened fine, however when i tried to open part 2 and 3 it gave me an error telling me the file is either in an unknown format or damaged. At this point i didn't know whether the files were actually corrupt or you have some kind of encryption on them due to it being a paid mod. I tried to redownload the files and no matter how many times i redownloaded, part 2 and 3 always came up as corrupt when i tried to open it and the steering wheels were still missing. I'll post two screenshots below, one will be the error i get and the other will be the wheel itself missing in-game. P.S. Same thing happened with the trailer mod i bought from RTA as well, the Double Reefers and i assume that is the reason the trailer itself has nothing but the stock scs wheels/rims on it instead of custom RTA wheels/rims like all of the other RTA mods have.
Here's the error i receive when i attempt to open the files.
Here's a screenshot of the interior of the steering wheel not showing up, FYI its not just this interior, but all of the ones with that steering wheel.

Just did and downloaded the files, the cabin accessories worked but the steering file didnt not. The little spot you click on in-game to change a certain part, like the dot or whatever you call it. There isn't one for the steering wheel, just for the dash panel, gauge trim and shifter. No steering wheel change selection.

Yep i just looked, the interiors like the one i listed do not have a spot to change the wheel, they're missing wheels altogether. However when i tried an interior that already had a wheel, the options came up. So from the looks of it the "wheel" option spot on the interiors like the one i listed must be disabled somehow in the files which is fine since i figured out i can just use one of the other interiors. Sorry for bothering you with this, i guess i'm just a bit dumb lol.
Also i meant to ask, does the vawdrey double reefer have any custom tires/rims or does it just use the default scs ones along with modded ones?
Like i said, sorry for being a pain in your side.

Alright, no worries! Glad to have it all sorted out and i assume the other variants of the trailer will be added sometime in the future as well, such as the long single version that we can get in ets2? All in all, beautiful mods and i love the work thats done on them. The Peterbilt 359 is on my list to get next. :)

This is because the file "def\vehicle\truck\ken108\interior\animations.sui" has "speedometer_anim_max" parameter set too high.itsCyberWolfe wrote:I've also noticed that the speedometer on the dash is about 5mph off cause i'll be going 50 according to the info panel but the speedometer says i'm going 45.
I would suggest lowering it from 120 (default) to about 117, but these files exist in part 2.
Conversely, if your speedometer is reading too high, increase the "speedometer_anim_max" by a few values. eg. 123
If that doesn't make the speedo display correctly, adjust the values accordingly.
Perhaps RTA_ADmin can send you a corrected file(s) - because there's actually 2 - as a separate mod, then you can mess with it as you please.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts.. do.

Geronimo replied to another thread i had about the k108 and k200, he gave me a link to his page which has some tweaks and fixes for the trucks, but thanks for checking in and trying to help out. As far as editing them, i refuse to edit truck mods without the owners permission and even if i had it, i wouldnt know where to start.

starting at the beginning is always a good place :)itsCyberWolfe wrote:room217au wrote:
You can edit whatever you want in any mod you like. What is frowned upon, however, is then uploading that edited mod and sharing it.
If you don't share an edited mod, there's nothing wrong with pulling it apart.

To be perfectly honest, the only thing out of the three mods i've bought that i'd want to change, is the gauges on the k108 and k200 to be either all yellow or all white to match the others and adding the round taillights like we can use on the trucks, to the double trailers. However i haven't done any 3d editing since 18 wheels of steel haulin' and i'd rather not much up anything lol.
