This is an ongoing work in progress for a guy who requested the skin:

This is the actual truck:

I always believe a second (or more) set of eyes is a beneficial thing. I don't always see the mistakes so am hoping anyone who looks can scrutinize what has been done so far and let me know if I have missed anything to date. Keep in mind though - this is a work in progress with much to be done.

Added after 14 minutes 57 seconds:
One other thing - does anyone know the name of the "Flourish" on this truck or where I can get it please?

Nicely detailed striping Tony, it looks very classy :class:
For some reason I'm getting a craving for an iced coffee, must be something subliminal going on here

Ian,

Now you mention it, it does have that "Iced Coffee" feel about it :)

So, the ERH Refrigerated Transport Skin - As mentioned above, I was having problems trying to identify the flourish or even find one that was remotely similar so on a whim I emailed ERH asking if it might be possible to get a picture of the flourish from one of their K200's. Believe it or not but around 5 hours later I received a reply from ERH along with 2 high definition close up photographs of the flourish! As such, many MANY thanks go out to "Jo" from ERH who sent and (I presume) took the photo's for me.

Any how, this is what I believe to be the end result and as close as I can get to the actual truck posted above:

Before this goes out, I'd really appreciate it if you guys see any faults, no matter how small they maybe ...

Jeeze, just read (or tried to read) my post above .... talk about getting scrambled! What the heck happened????

Only tiny thing I can see is the roof logo bending. To get around this when I do it is I bend it the other way, photoshop has text stuff like applying an arc or just going back to the warp to try and straighten it out.

Love your skins though as always, look so good and neat!

Tommo,

Crap - see, a fresh set of eyes picks stuff up :) Thanks mate - to be honest, I didn't bend anything when I put the logo on so that is my fault 100%. Gives me something to do this evening :)

So a question ... I can't find a picture of these trucks from the rear so have no "actual idea" of what goes on back there. My "gut" tells me the white carries around the back of the sleeper though - does that seem reasonable?

Thanks for your very flattering comment about my skins as well - it is appreciated.

For the rear think somethink out about yourself. Maybe a green Pinstripe on a white Background or something like that. Also nice work from you like that Paintjob too.

Or ... Wait a minute.... gotcha!!!

Thanks Bomberman - as it turns out I did two versions - one with the white around the back and one without. If you want the skin let me know and I can send it to you as well.

Thx, @Wombi,I wanted to ask you a favor later, I was trying about to build up my own company in the Game and could need a custom Paintjob for the Kenworth K108, K200 and some Standardmodels from SCS when it´s ok for you but i must think about it how i could to do it. And one question could you, or is that even possible to change the Skins or Textures from the Companygarage (big one and small one)?.

Man must go work now.

cya.

Bomber -

Not a problem for me to do a custom paint job for you for the trucks you mentioned. :class: Have PM'd you though regarding that.

As for changing the Company Logo on the Garages ... YES it can be done; however, I have no idea how it is done and something I would like to know as well. I know Ian (Geronimo Express) has done it so perhaps he will be able to answer the "How To" part

The "standard" European small (3x truck) and large (5x truck) garages in ETS2 are skinned in a similar way to the trucks using a DDS file containing all of the external textures laid out on the one "page" that are then applied/mapped onto the 3D model of the garage.

The "small" garage uses the file: "garage_cheap.dds"
The "Large" garage uses the file: "garage_expensive.dds"
Both of these DDS files are found at: /prefab/garage in the ETS2 base game files.

The Scandinavia large garage however doesn't use the same "skinning" system, instead it is textured within the 3D model, so to edit how it looks requires this to be done in a 3D program such as Blender.

The Scandinavian garage files are found at: /prefab/garage_scandinavia in the ETS2 base game files.

Hope that helps you out guys,
Cheers

Thanks for your help too @Geronimo_Express. But could i set up the .dds files in a normal Paint Programm or GIMP? or do i use a special Programm to edit?
I see some Truck .dds files they are openable with pic-programms and different .dds files they don´t open with that, format doesn´t support.

Sry about that dumb questions but i try to learn.

You can use a program called "DXTBmp" to open the DDS files and save them in a format that your paint program of choice can open, such as Extended Bitmap or 24 Bit BMP. This way you can open any DDS file and use it as a template/guide for what you want to change/create.

Thanks Ian but for us (meaning me) who have no idea where the ETS2 Base files are - could you tell me how to find them ...

c/programs/user/data/ etc etc etc just as an example.

Hi Tony,
I have posted a quick guide to extracting the SCS Base Game Files etc. in the Tips & Tricks topic, so it's easier to find and questions can be asked/answered without overloading your Paintwork Topic:

Doolan's K22 Thus Far ...

Still working on this; however this is where it is at thus far:

Not perfect as I took some "artistic licence" with the top pin striping. I could see where it ran around the top of the cab so decided to cut it short for the sake of ease and my sanity

The Cab Door flourish is created from the main flourish as I couldn't find anything that came close.
