Fixed Gauges for the K200 and K108
Hi Friends,
About a month ago I was driving my trusty K200 on the treacherous Dalton/Elliot Highway Extreme Winter map in ATS when, as a result of not having working air pressure gauges, I ran out of air and brakes on one of the steep icey hills and ended up at the bottom of a deep ravine. As you would know, this map is 1:1 so the tow waaaay back to the closest depot meant that I had to repeat several hours of tense driving to get back to where I had previously got to.
Since I knew Michael and Oleg were working very hard on the huge job of updating all of their great mods and on the eagerly awaited new Freightliner,
this inspired me to have a go at seeing if I could work out a way to get the air pressure gauges on the K200 working.
I am pleased to be able to report that, after many late nights of experimentation, failure, frustration and questioning of my own sanity , that I have finally succeeded in getting not only the Air Pressure gauges working, but also the Voltmeter, Engine Oil Pressure, Engine Water Temperature and the Turbo Boost gauges working for both the K200 and the K108, as you can see in the screenshots that I have attached.
I have made a small mod (less than 160 Kb each) containing these fixes which I would like to share with you all if you are interested, but I don't know what the correct procedure is and I certainly wouldn't want to cause any upset here on the forum.
So, I am hoping that Michael (RTA Admin) will be kind enough to allow me to post them here somehow for you.
Cheers and Happy Trucking,
Ian

Great work! Thanks for all the effort. I know many users of these 2 great trucks are looking for a fix like this for a while now.
You can put your mod in a zip file and upload it right here on this forum. (add file --> place inline) like the pics you attached in your post. It doesn't work for .scs files but it does for .zip.
I'm really excited to have this fix/mod. Thanks again.

Hi everyone,
Good news, I have recieved the OK from Michael from the RTA team to upload the fix for the gauges on the K200 and the K108,
so (if I have done everything right) there should be files to download below.
The downloads are compressed 7z format so need to be extracted the same way as RTA truck mod downloads.
The two downloads I have posted tonight are for the ETS versions only.
Unfortunately, earlier this week my computers graphics card went up in smoke as I was testing the ATS versions.
I have today installed a replacement graphics card and the computer is back up and running, but the crashes that accompanied the death of the card have made a mess of ATS so I am in the process of sorting that out tonight, and I expect to be able to finish testing the ATS versions and have them uploaded here within the next 24 hours.
After my first post, I noticed that there were some warning lights which hadn't actually been working in the trucks, so as a little bonus, I have also fixed them.
This Mod now fixes the following K108 and K200 gauges and warning lights;
Voltmeter Gauge: Fixed
Oil Pressure Gauge: Fixed
Water Temp Gauge: Fixed
Turbo Boost Gauge: Fixed to now read correctly across the full gauge range.
Rear/Front Air Pressure Gauges: Fixed to show System Air Pressure as I was unable to find separate animation files in the K108/200 for Front and Rear(Trailer) Air Pressure and unfortunately I can only work with the animation files that are already in the truck model.
Low Oil Pressure Warning Light: Fixed
Low Air Pressure Warning Light: Fixed
Engine Temperature Warning Light: Fixed
After much testing it appears a couple of gauges, namely the "Pyrometer" and the "Spring Pressure" gauge, are actually sharing data/animation files somehow, and unfortunately I am unable to change the associations between gauge animation files and the actual gauge model files.
Personally I think this is ok as a stop-gap fix, as it means that we don't need to look so far down on the K200 to see the Front/Rear Air gauges which are set lower on the dash compared to the K108, and also having the large centre gauge showing Air Pressure is, I think, probably more usefull information than the pyrometer.
PLEASE NOTE:
In the MOD Manager load order, these fix/mods MUST BE ABOVE ALL other parts of their respective K108/K200 RTA MOD files and any other mods which you may have installed specifically for each truck.
I hope this helps and that you enjoy having a few more gauges to have to keep an eye on.
I will keep a watch on this thread in case you have any questions.
Thanks for your support,
Cheers
Ian

Finally got ATS running again (strangely it will only launch in OpenGL for some reason ), and have been able to complete testing the ATS versions of the fixes for the K108 and the K200 gauges.
The gauges and warning lights that are fixed are the same as for the ETS version per my earlier post, with one addition:
While test driving on the freeway I noticed that the speedometer was reading about 7% above the actual speed when I checked it against the HUD display (which I don't usually have in view). This explains why some of my previous deliveries were late, even though I'd sat on the speed limit which should've given me time to spare. So I have gone ahead and fixed that also in this version (V1.3.6R), we can't risk losing our impeccable reputations for on-time deliveries can we?!
As with the ETS versions, these fix/mods are compressed 7z files, so need to be un-compressed/extracted before use, and they must be above all other parts of their respective RTA Truck MOD files and any other mods which you may have installed for the K108/K200 in the MOD Manager.
Hope you're all having a great weekend,
Cheers
Ian

Hi Willy1962,
these particular def files aren't part of the K200 Mod Part 1 , and I suspect that the def files may be split across the two parts for a reason, so without trying it I'm not sure that it would necessarily work . There may be files elsewhere that reference them that may not find them if they are put into the Part 1 def folder structure. I have tried doing something similar in other mods that I have made for the Kenworths which didn't work when done that way, particularly when it involves things associated with the interior of the trucks.
I guess you could give it a try and see if it works, and if it doesn't just go back to using the separate mod.
