To answers some of your comments on steam:

Template has always been magnified between photoshop and game

Mine are reduced to make them fit roughly with real life (for those trailers which are based on real ones, bransgrove and chapman are pure fiction etc) but to be honest I don’t like doing trailers so just wanted them done.

Another reason for the reduction is the bottom of the trailers (even behind the chrome trim) does not match the bottom of the template, I’d just moved them around.

Thanks. Tmeplate is still not quite accurate, but much better.
Question:
Template is 1024x512px
With trucks, I can increase the size to, say, 4096x2048, then create my skin and the game re-sizes it to fit around the truck.
Trailers do not do this?

No. Change the size to 1024x512px or 2048x1024px
I made a template with a size of 2048x2048px
or download 2048x1024

Ok. Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Added after 39 minutes 36 seconds:
The back doors of the trailer are actually two faces in the UV layout. Any image placed there is "separated" into two halves and looks funny.
It is also stretched vertically. I don't know why.
The side is stretched too, but horizontally AND vertically.
It seems it's too difficult to get a proper template.
I've been thinking of delving into Blender and learning how to export UV maps anyway, so maybe this is a good time to learn how.
Thanks for your time and help.

Well, Blender can go fuck itself. Exporting a fucking UV map shouldn't be that fucking hard.
Not only are all the faces (top, bottom,left, right, front, back) of the trailer ALL in one (piece_15 in the Outliner view), I cannot - after many hours - make the UV map NOT stretch the artwork.
What a pile of crap. Can you guys at least make ONE decent template? Please?

Great job Tommo!

Do you plan to make any skins for the USA cab configuration for the Superliner?

Nah the amount of whiners on steam doesn’t make me want to do anymore skins.

There are quite a few guides about though to have a go yourself, skinning is very rewarding if you do it just for you :)

It is a shame to lose such talent from the Steam workshop. I read the comments and to be honest I don't blame you. I wish you could post your skins on RTA-Mods where they would be appreciated and where you would not receive the idiotic comments. Your skins are highly rated on the Steam workshop but with the morons able to post comments there it does diminish your satisfaction in creating such great skins for the RTA trucks. Your skins are superb and I thank you for them.

Yes i agree with Neskonian's comments, will be a real shame to lose your skins. I really appreciate the work you do and love your skins. please consider posting them here instead but will understand completely if you don't. Anyway thanks very much for what you have done..cheers

Appreciate the comments guys, I’ll have a think. I might possibly have an unused Dropbox I could put them into, steam is nice and easy though especially when it comes to updating.

Probably just need to become less caring about the comments.

Although the comments didn’t involve the words please and thank you the Emerald one could be put into the 908 and the 108 quite easily to create a pack, and there are a couple of Mack daycab skins from the 80’s id like to do.

Ok I've been looking into doing some USA Sleeper skins for the truck but I don't think they will work. For the two I've put on the workshop I was going to put a metal sleeper box (kinda like this)

But due to the template overlapping I get layers showing where I don't want them;

The fuel tanks are less of an issue because you have the chrome option, but the mudguards can't be changed;

You can see where the numbers are matching when you put on the gridskin:

I am looking at doing another daycab one for the Superliner and will see if any of the ones I've got saved are plain enough on the sleeper for me to do.
