Vawdrey 4.7 release issue

Hey guys,

Just downloaded and installed the new Vawdrey 4.7 Trailer package. One issue though - it freezes and crashes the game when being accessed in the Trailer Browser.

The Trailers installed okay and the game starts okay, the only issue is when trying to see the trailers in the Trailer Browser.

I can confirm CTD on clean troubleshooting profile ATS v1.34.0.4 when trying to access the trailers in Trailer Browser/Trailer Dealer. It appears to be centred around PMD/PMG files and inability to convert model geometry @ runtime.

-conversion_dump_path "D:\dump"
will save all pmg, pma files to the specified directory. Simply copy them to the origfinal mod and overwrite.

Yep, I got that thank you. So we wont be able to use this version (4.7) until we get the 1.35 version of the game - is that correct?

The switch goes into your launch options box in Steam.
Right-click Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator in Steam Library..
Select "Properties", then "Launch Options". Paste the whole command switch (quotes must be around directory path) into that box.

Take the truck/trailer to upgrade shop and select all upgrade options one by one. You don't have to buy them, you don't have to actually buy the truck/trailer.

What it does is make the game 'dump' the converted PMG and PMA files into their respective directories in that directory path you specify.

Be careful, it does not discriminate between mods. ie ALL converted PMG files from, say 'vehicle/truck/upgrade/f_grill' from ALL trucks that have the old pmg versions currently in mod directory will all be put in the exact same directory in your specified dump directory.

If there are ANY conversion errors in the game log after completing this process, do NOT use the converted PMG/PMA files, but delete them and try to figure out what went wrong.
Once satisfied that ll fioles have been converted and saved to disk, remove the -conversion switch from Launch Options.

Okay - problem (for me anyway) solved ... I was trying to use the Trailers in version 1.34 ... now I have 1.35 Beta installed, the Trailers show up perfectly in both the Trailer and Dealer Browsers :class:

Only issue now is ATS V1.35 apparently doesn't recognize Steering Wheels - NOT a good start for them. :fie:

room if your question was for me, concerning the steering wheel thing .. ignore it. I was referring to "my steering wheel and pedals". As it turns out, the plug had come out of the back of my steering wheel; therefore (obviously) NO game would recognize it or be able to use it. Plugged the wheel back in and all is good again.

And yep, I don't mind admitting when I am wrong about something ....

One thing that is going to be an issue when it comes to testing the 1.35 version RTA trucks ... ATS 1.35 DOES NOT save your progress when exiting the program. In other words, each time I exit the game then go back to it I have had to start from the beginning again, pick a town etc etc etc.

Kind of makes the thing 100% pointless.

Sure you have got "Read Only" Permissions set somewhere in Docs directory?
ATS and ETS2 are behaving normally on start and exit for me?

Positive, both ATS and ETS 1.34 started and exited without issue. ETS 1.34 starts and exits without issue still. ATS 1.35 is in the same docs directory yet is not saving on exit. IF it is saving on exit, it certainly isn't loading the saved game when starting it up again?

Can you post your gamelog and config file, might be able to troubleshoot with the information in them, otherwise it's just a guessing game :wink:

Thanks guys for the input and I have no idea what the hell is going on with either damn steam, 1.35 or my computer BUT ATS 1.35 now seems to be working okay. Perhaps it was just an initial install gliche? Beats the hell out of me, all I know is I just went back into ATS and I still had what I had done prior to shutting it down a few hours ago. :weirdface: :think: :insane:
