Hi Pauly,
(You posted just as I was about to hit submit, but I thought I'd put this up anyway just in case it helps someone else )
That's the right K108 template that you've got there. I just did a test here with one of my paintjobs, I changed it to metallic and it's working ok here in ATS & ETS. (I included a pic below.)
The round tanks and the painted bumpers on the K108 currently just pick up the colour from the background colour of your dds file, whereas the rectangular tanks do work correctly per the template. Just looking at your red K108 photo it looks like the red on the bumper and round fuel tanks is the correct red but is being screened by a semi-transparent mask. I'm just wondering if maybe there is a low percentage grey in the alpha of your DDS file that is overlaying the background area of your paintjob? I have had that happen to myself and it was barely noticeable just looking at the alpha channel but selecting thte entire background area and deleting it fixed the problem, so it must have just been a very faint grey that wasn't visible on-screen.
Just thought I'd mention that just in case. Hope you can get it sorted,
Cheers
Ian

Having trouble with paint template that comes with K108 v2.6
I'm not new to paintjobs at all, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong..
The paintjob def. alternate_uvset true or false, makes no difference to the outcome.
[code]
SiiNunit
{
accessory_paint_job_data : thompsons.ken108.paint_job
{
name: "Thompsons Transport"
price: 1
unlock: 0
icon: "ken"
stock: false
airbrush: true
paint_job_mask: "/vehicle/truck/upgrade/paintjob/thompsons.tobj"
base_color: (0.0000, 0.0000, 0.0000)
base_color_locked: true
alternate_uvset: true
}
}
Current template, with artwork layered on top. The mottled-white base texture is hidden so the paintjob layout can be seen against the template:
and this is the result. I don't know why.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, that was my first thought too. But it makes no difference.Admin-RTA wrote:Try this [ alternate_uvset: false ]
Black Lady, Ghost and Pride paintjobs all appear on truck correctly.
Am I using the wrong template?
I used "108_B_invert.bmp" from the files that came with the K108 v2.6
It's the same template as K108 v2.5
It's not a big problem, I'm just baffled as to what I'm doing wrong?

Fixed now. I knew I was doing something wrong, or forgetting something. I got the paintwork from the CAM Drop Deck trailers and modified it to suit my trucks.Admin-RTA wrote:the template has not been changed for a long time. very strange error.
I forgot that I also made one for my GTM W900B and the paintjob mask was the same name.
The 900B was replacing the K108 paintjob with its own
I simply changed the name of the K108 paintjob.

Tommo, it's a fair amount of cut 'n' shut when using the tag trailer artwork to apply on a K108 :D But I do enjoy that :)
Still a couple more skins to do.
I've been slicing and dicing with the 108 as well. Custom antennas, removed existing light fixtures and replaced them with custom slots on rear bumper, front bumper, bullbar. Added cabflares on top of the aerodyne roof. Removed all of the accessories I don't use: plates, oversize, cabin accessories locators, side mirror, smoke, RTA wheels and tyres, deleted all the UK references and files, removed extra chassis (8x4) and mounted a pair of TomToms in the cab for truck info and gps.
The entire K108 is now just over 110Mb (it ships around 280Mb) and I'm getting 60fps in it. Good for a not-really-a-gaming-machine computer.
